Josh began his musical studies as soon as he could hold his mothers neglected classical guitar. The sound of a strings vibration soon became a life long infatuation that eventually spread from the guitar to the upright bass and mandolin.

While his earliest musical studies took the form of lessons on guitar, cello and trumpet; the gritty sounds of punk rock soon took hold. After dropping all academic musical pursuits Josh spent years playing in punk and hardcore bands. After living in a house less than conducive to rockin’ out he again picked up the acoustic and a new musical direction was forged. He picked up the mandolin in 2002, a decision which he now regards as one of the best of his life
